Quality italian brand. The vintage ones are in high demand.
Probably the "go-to" American brand. Owned by the same company as many of the other U.S. hat companies (Resistol, Dobbs etc).
British manufacturer, not what they once were, but great value for money and a good selection of styles.
The classic Australian firm, makers of the bush-hat, also have a wonderful range of dressier hats.
A quick run-down of some of the common styles...
Soft felt hat with a wide brim, as seen on everyone from Bogart to Bond. My personal favourite.
Panamas are traditional straw hats from Central America, which are styled much like felt fedoras.
Stiff felt hat with a single centre dent in the crown and a brim fixed in a tight upwards curl.
