Hats have been a part of mens fashion for hundreds of years, from Top Hats to Flat Caps. Largely in the last fourty years however, they have continued to die out, leaving only baseball hats and beanies. If a man now wears a classic fedora or trilby, he's largely treated as an oddity, however now is the time we reclaimed the right to wear hats if we choose to, if hoodies can wear baseball caps with stickers on, why shouldn't we wear fedoras with our suits?.
This site's been put together to to help educate those who are interested in the different styles of hats available and to help inform people where to purchase them. So if you've ever wondered about what makes a fedora, a homburg, or a panama, or if you just want to learn more about the various makers or retailers read on...
A quick run-down of some of the common styles...
Soft felt hat with a wide brim, as seen on everyone from Bogart to Bond. My personal favourite.
Panamas are traditional straw hats from Central America, which are styled much like felt fedoras.
Stiff felt hat with a single centre dent in the crown and a brim fixed in a tight upwards curl.
